Motivate Me

Not a great start to my second year at uni, been back 3weeks and haven't really knuckled down as much as i'd have hoped! But i'm loving life at the moment, my friends, my house and just my life in general! This image i created is based on this feeling i'm having at the moment the highs and the lows of right now.

P.s also it's a huge symbol to my best friend Charles Robinson, where the magpie has been his favourite bird for ages and recently to symbolise his love for his girlfriend, and her love for him, they both got a tattoo of a magpie, 'Two for Joy'. Also Chaz has always been there for me since the day we met, together we are a TEAM, doing everything together including cycling to amsterdam (900 miles) during the summer. So when ever i see a magpie i also think of him and at the moment i've been seeing a lot of them out of my bedroom window, i don't normally believe in signs but at the moment as my life is 50/50 i can always rely on my best bud.

I've not had a very productive summer apart from the making of money which to be honest has taken up 90% of my time. Homebase... FMS. Ha, but from next week i'm off on an adventure, a bike riden adventure, to the coast/europe and hopefully holland depending time. Wish me luck!

Blackbird Fly

My most recent purchase! The lomo Blackbird Fly.

It's a plastic TLR toy camera which takes 35mm!! It also shoots in three formats, full frame square, square frame and regular 35mm! I can not wait to use this. I brought it for my birthday which is on friday, 9th july. So i guess ill use it then!

Summer Time

Its summer time...well from tomorrow as i get the results of my first year at bath spa university! So from tomorrow i get to go home and enjoy my summer...which will be working full time at my first and only job at Homebase... but apart from that ill be doing some crazy things with crazy friends and enjoying a crazy summer.

Also during summer i'm going to set myself a summer project, not 100% sure what it's going to be, but i've been experimenting with type ^ the above image ^ and photography, so this might be the foundations to my summer project, who knows... Anyway... Enjoy your summer guys, see you all soon.

Waterside Quartet

I recently went on a photo shoot with Bath Spa University's most recent musical collaboration, Waterside Quartet. They asked me to photograph them for there website, currently in production, with a little help from me.

As a little gesture for the opportunity they gave me i decided to design there business cards, here they are. There a bit rough and not finished but you guys get the idea.

Also this isn't the only bit of commercial designing/ Photographing i've been doing lately, i photographed a wedding recently and i've also just completely a good friend of mine's EP. Good times.

Digital Photography

Here we have my sequential narrative for the digital photography project we were set. The hand in is in only 3 days, but i believe i have 80% of it covered now so hopefully alot less stressing until maybe the night before or the hand in day arrives... wish me luck.

Yashica MAT G

Purchased this two lensed badman about a month ago from a local camera shop, for the epic price of £60... instead of around £200 (ebay), the reason for the cheap cheap price was because it came without a battery cover...? which is easily solved using a bit of tin foil and some PTFE tape. (You can see on the righthand side my DIY skills).

Already shot two rolls of 120film but will have to wait a couple of weeks for the funds to pay for development :/ but for the mean time ill just admire the awesomeness of this camera.

I present to you a snippet of my idea for the MAGIC project. Instax is a film produced by FujiFilm, which is ultra similar to Polaroid accept from the costs, the ugly cameras and that polaroid is discontinued... or is it? The image above is an Instax Print of the lighting setup for my Instax Timelaspe idea.

Peter Callesen is absolutely incredible, the man must have fingers smaller than a new born baby and the patience greater than that of a glacier. His work has inspired me and his techniques and ideas may show in my recent project based on the word...magic.
